A serum is a therapeutic botanical concentrate. The serums offered by Juniperus Herbals are all vegan and use whole-plant formulas. I believe that the magic plants' offer comes from infusing unrefined plant oils with herbs that have been harvested and dried in their natural state. They are formulated to penetrate deep into the skin to moisturize, heal, and correct.

Why is there a separate night serum from the daytime oil?
The Daytime Facial Oils are formulated to protect throughout the day as we encounter the sun and environmental toxins. The Night serum's primary focus is restoring and regenerating the skin.

What is the difference between a salve, a balm, and body butter?
A salve is a combination of herbal oils and beeswax.
A balm is a combination of herbal oils, butters, and beeswax.
Body butters are a combination of herbal oils and butters.

What are essential oils and are they safe?
They are concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile, meaning they easily evaporate at normal temperatures, chemical compounds from plants; extracted from certain varieties of trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses, roots, fruits, and flowers. Their small molecular size means essential oils can be absorbed exceptionally easily and quickly.

They are indeed a treasure trove of holistic medicine, nature's way of providing medicine for the mind, body, and spirit. On average an essential oil contains 100 chemical components and are hugely vibrant in a range of other interesting properties.

Because they are highly concentrated chemical compounds, most are not safe to be used directly on the skin but are safe when diluted into a carrier oil at the right percentages. All my formulas follow the guidelines for dilution as recommended by the Herbal Academy, and Valerie Ann Worwood is one of the world’s foremost authorities on aromatherapy and essential oils.
